The Journey Begins
Apostle Austin J. de Bourg received a mandate from Jesus Christ to restore spiritual truths, which satan has stolen from the Church. He received this commission in April 1980, and since then he has picked up the call. With the aid of the Internet, we can now reach beyond our sanctuary and share with readers like you some spiritual truths, which made the Early Church effective in carrying the ‘Flames of Pentecost’ to its generation and beyond. Getting back to these truths will undoubtedly position and equip us to effectively carry out our mandate of reaching the lost. Furthermore, God never intended that the ‘Torch of God’s Testimony’ and the ‘Fires of Revival’ should be extinguished, but that it should remain aflame and passed on to each succeeding generation. Unfortunately, to a large extent, the ‘Torch of God’s Testimony’ has been reduced significantly (in some nations more than others) where God has become insignificant. This indifference and coldness toward God has filtered down to this generation and God has lost credibility among many in our time
The year 2001 ushered in a new millennium, and with it, a mandate from God to the apostles and prophets of the Church to accelerate the restoration of spiritual truths and the return to holiness and intimacy with Christ. This means that secular Christianity is going to have to give way to “Vital Spiritual Christianity” which was characteristic of the Early Church. The Early Church is the model that the Holy Spirit established for believers to follow.
The Church in the Old Testament carried the ‘Torch of God’s Testimony’, while the New Testament Early Church carried the ‘Fires of Pentecost’. Both flames burned with such intensity that everyone in their time witnessed it and came under their influences. The ‘Torch of God’s Testimony’ and ‘The Fires of Pentecost’ must burn in the hearts of believers once again, and ignite their influence in this generation, and the next, if Jesus tarries. Great preaching alone has not accomplished our task, but the ‘Torch’ and the ‘Flame’ will. |
