The Revival
Trinidad Christian Center began in a revival, which lasted for five (5) years from 1980 to 1985. During that time, many were saved and added to the Church. Miracles, deliverances and healings were the norm in every service. Then again in the year 2001, we began to earnestly seek God for the revival of our nation.
As we considered the state of our nation, we realized that it could incur the judgment of God. There had been a steady increase in crime and gruesome murders. A form of evil had been introduced and practiced in “high places” on a scale unimaginable. A large segment of the population seemed to be affected, as there was a marked decline in moral behavior, lawlessness and corruption as people no longer feared God. There was a obvious shift on the part of some Church leaders and their congregations when they started endorsing those who blatantly opposed the Kingdom of God, and who were also under suspicion of corruption and other gross deviant behaviors. When the people of God take such a position, and when they call evil good, and support it, and the bowing of knees to Baal it is a sure sign of apostasy. At such times a revival is needed.
Our church felt both the urgency and responsibility to approach God for a national change, applying the biblical principles of Daniel, Ezekiel and Isaiah when the sin of Israel had brought blight on the nation. Similarly, we sought God’s mercy and asked for his forgiveness as we plunged into corporate prayer, supplication and intercession. This was accompanied by extensive teaching, on the effects of individual and national sin. Our congregation responded to the call for repentance for whatever sin was identified in their lives.
This ignited a fresh move of the Spirit of God followed by many receiving dreams, visions and prophetic utterances on the outpouring of God’s Spirit for revival. Minister after minister who visited our Church had a prophetic word on the coming revival. As we continued our intercession for change, the spirit of revival emerged. But unlike the former revival, which launched this ministry, did not give rise to an immediate harvest but instead, revived individually those already in the faith. Amazing miracles, healings, deliverances & restoration took place in these individuals as the ‘Fires of Pentecost’ were rekindled and set ablaze within them. Simultaneously, the Corporate Body underwent transformation. There was a shifting & restructuring orchestrated solely by the Father, whereby many believers who were not joined to the vision left and new converts, led by the Spirit, came in and were quickly joined to the vision as the ‘Fires of Revival’ consumed them.
God began preparing a people, united in His love that would be on fire for Him, a people prepared to go all the way for Him, carrying the ‘Torch of His Testimony’ wherever he leads. We are currently in the throws of this new move of God and have continued diligently in intense intercession and warfare against the enemy’s desperate attempts to hinder this move. What we are experiencing is like what is stated in Joel’s prophesy:
“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young, men shall see visions; And also upon the servants and the handmaids in those days, will I pour out my spirit.” (Joel 2: 28, 29)
